    Speculative Fiction

  • About

Rachel is a speculative fiction writer, working on tales that range in genre from weird, to Gothic and cosmic horror, to very gentle, contemporary fantasy. She's happy to dabble in both wonder and dread, whimsy and entrails.

When she isn't staring down a microscope or riding her bicycle, you can find her extolling the virtues of Val Lewton’s movies to anyone who will listen. (Start with “The Body Snatcher”.) She's been longlisted for a British Science Fiction Association award and is a member of Broad Universe, HWA (Horror Writers Association), and SFWA (Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers Association).

    Readings and Appearances

Thanks to Broad Universe for hosting the Rapid Fire Reading event at WorldCon! I had a wonderful time. I don't believe the reading was recorded but if it shows up, I'll post a link here.

Recordings, where available. I'll update in the case of a live event.

"...an unexpected gem. ... It’s a tale about loneliness, quiet courage, strength and pulling together; about how the residents still have something left to give. The end is the best kind..." Review of "Bargains" by Tangent

"The joy of this story lies in the details." Review of "Bargains" in Amazing Stories

Fair warning: I spend more time writing stories than updating social media.
